From new builds to fire compliance in existing buildings, we’re Northlands passive fire specialists.

North Passive Fire are proud to work with a range of clients throughout Northland, assisting them with their fire compliance in existing buildings and in new builds alike.

Our projects demonstrate the wide range of situations we’re capable of proving passive fire protection for.

Jim Carney Cancer Treatment Centre at Whangarei Base Hospital

On this project, we assisted in the installation of the passive fire protection.

Anzac Road Housing NZ Flats

For this project we were engaged to provide passive fire compliance in an existing, 3 level concrete building which had been stripped back and renovated. We made sure all the electrical, plumbing and data services were sufficiently fireproofed. Each individual flat is a fire cell due to the fireproofing of the walls, floors, doors and ceilings.

Northland Events Centre

Another 3-level building that required us to assist with an upgrade of its passive fire protection. The major challenge we faced with this project was that it was in use while we were working on it. This required us to carry out our work at night, and weekends to minimise disruption to the businesses that leased the space.

NRC Building

This was one of the older buildings we’ve worked on, where we assisted in the upgrade of passive fire protection. This was also a difficult job in that we were working on the building while it was being occupied, so we had to do what we could to reduce noise disruption and ensure that access to the occupants remained unrestricted.

Kaikohe District Court House

Upgrading the passive fire protection for this building posed one of our biggest challenges as, in order to accommodate a live Court, we had to complete all our work after hours. It also posed a real logistical challenge as we had to assist in roof removal and replacement each night to finish the upgrades. This project demonstrated our ability to be flexible, adaptable and able to solve problems quickly.

Kowhai Dental and ASB Bank, Whangarei

Both of these projects were new builds and involved us liaising with the client to provide and install the passive fire protection to plumbing, electrical and data services.

Silver Fern Farms

We were asked to provide passive fire sealing solutions to the electric main distribution rooms at this meatworks in Dargaville.
